How do I set up pipelines and stages?

On Deals, click the pipeline's name › Manage pipelines, pick a pipeline, choose Lead or Deal, change its stages, then Save. Click New pipeline to add another one.

Updated October 25, 2026

A pipeline is the list of steps a lead or a sale goes through. Each pipeline is a Lead pipeline (people who asked or were found, not real sales yet) or a Deal pipeline (real sales in progress). On Leads & deals, click the pipeline's name beside Search deals, then Manage pipelines at the bottom of the list. Pick a pipeline, choose Lead or Deal, rename, reorder, add or remove its stages, then click Save. Click New pipeline to add another one, for example one for new installs and one for maintenance contracts.

Also called: stages, sales steps, deal stages, lead stages, pipeline type, columns, funnel, pipeline de ventes, étapes, étapes de vente, type de pipeline, colonnes

Step 1: Open Manage pipelines

Open Leads & deals and click the pipeline's name beside Search deals. The list shows All pipelines; click Manage pipelines at the bottom. The Manage pipelines page opens with every pipeline and how many stages it has. Click the one to change. Only the owner and people who can change settings see Manage pipelines.

Click: Leads & deals › pipeline name › Manage pipelines › a pipeline

Step 2: Choose Lead or Deal, then change the stages

Under Pipeline type, click Lead or Deal:

  • Lead: it holds leads. New requests (website, email, phone, lead link) land in your first lead pipeline.

  • Deal: it holds the deals you're working to win.

As soon as you switch the type of a pipeline you already have, a yellow Watch out message says what will happen. Going from Deal to Lead, its open deals become leads again: their amounts and monthly revenue stop counting in your sales totals, but nothing is deleted and you can switch back. Going from Lead to Deal, its open leads become deals: their amounts count in your sales totals and their people show up in Customers. Alori asks you to confirm again when you click Save.

Next to each stage's name, you see how many leads or deals are on it now, for example 12 leads. Type over a stage's name to rename it. Drag a stage by its grip (the dots on its left) to change the order. Click Remove stage to take one out, or Add a stage to add one. Next to each name, pick In progress, Won or Lost: a deal that reaches a Won or Lost stage is closed. Put them anywhere, as many as you need, for example Disqualified set to Lost. Keep at least one stage in progress. If the stage you remove has deals, Alori tells you where they go first.

Click: a pipeline › Add a stage

Step 3: Save

Rename the pipeline in Pipeline name if you like, then click Save. You see Pipeline saved and you are back on the list of pipelines. Open deals on a removed stage go back to the first one.

Click: Save

Step 4: Add another pipeline

In Manage pipelines, click New pipeline, type its Pipeline name, pick Lead or Deal, and click Save. A lead pipeline starts with New lead, Contacted, Qualified and Lost; a deal pipeline with Meeting booked, Closing soon, Won and Lost. It opens so you can change them. To switch pipelines on Leads & deals, click the pipeline's name beside Search deals and pick another; with many pipelines, type in Find a pipeline to find one.

Click: Manage pipelines › New pipeline › Save

Step 5: Import deals from another pipeline into a stage

On a pipeline's page in Manage pipelines, click Import from another pipeline (the tray icon) on the stage that should receive them. A line appears under it: pick the pipeline after From, then the stage there. Each stage imports from one place; click the cross to remove it. Do it on as many stages as you like, then click Save and import and confirm with Import. Every deal and lead on those stages moves here, and you see how many came in. Won and lost deals keep their date; one that has none (from an older import) is dated today, so it shows on the board.

For example, on Contacted: From › test › Qualified imports every Qualified lead of test into Contacted.

Click: Manage pipelines › a pipeline › Import from another pipeline › Save and import › Import

Good to know

  • To delete a pipeline, open it in Manage pipelines, then click Delete pipeline. Alori tells you how many leads or deals it holds and asks you to confirm: they are deleted with it. Their people, companies, notes, messages and tasks stay. The main pipeline can't be deleted.

  • A pipeline that had both lead and deal stages, like "XYZ", is now two: XYZ leads and XYZ deals. Every lead and deal stayed on its stage.

  • You can have up to 20 pipelines, each with up to 20 stages.

  • Ask Alori can do it too: "Add a stage Site visit after Contacted".

If it doesn't work

  • "Every stage needs a name." Fill in the empty stage, or remove it.

  • "Keep at least one stage that is in progress." Set one stage back to In progress.

  • "A pipeline has between 3 and 20 stages." You have more than 20 stages. Remove some.

  • "You already have 20 pipelines." Delete one you don't use first.

  • "The main pipeline can't be deleted." Rename it instead.

  • No Import from another pipeline icon on the stages. You have only one pipeline. Add another first.

  • No Manage pipelines at the bottom of the list. Your role can't change settings. Ask the owner.
