How do I connect my own domain?
On Business, open a project's Settings, type your domain under Your own domain, click Connect, add the records, then click Check connection.
On the Business plan, each project can have its own domain: www.yourcompany.com for your Website, app.yourcompany.com for your CRM, help.yourcompany.com for your Customers help center. Open the project, click Settings above the preview, type the address under Your own domain and click Connect. Add the records Alori shows where you bought your domain, then click Check connection.
Also called: custom domain, my own address, DNS, CNAME, point my domain, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, nom de domaine, domaine personnalisé
Each domain shows the published version of its project. Your CRM's domain shows exactly what alori.dev shows: Alori's bar on top, Alori's sign-in, Build for the people who can build, and your CRM below. Your team signs in there with their Alori account. Booking, quote, invoice and meeting links keep working on it. Until the Help center has its own domain, it stays at /help on your website's address. Once it has one, the Help center opens right at that address (help.yourcompany.com/en, never help.yourcompany.com/help), and the old /help links send people there.
A project's domain shows that project and nothing else. If someone opens help.yourcompany.com/app, they land on your CRM. A booking, quote or invoice link opened there goes to your website's address.
Step 1: Open Your own domain
Open the project in the left menu: CRM, Website, Customers help center or an extra project. Above the preview, click Settings. For the CRM and the Website, scroll to Your own domain. For the Customers help center, open the Address tab.
Click: Settings › Your own domain (Customers help center: Settings › Address)
Step 2: Choose the address and click Connect
Under Choose the address, type your domain. Use a subdomain like app.yourcompany.com or help.yourcompany.com so your current website stays as it is. Each domain goes on one project only. Click Connect.
Click: Settings › type your domain › Connect
Step 3: Add the records where you bought your domain
Under Add these records where you bought your domain, Alori lists each record with its Type, Name and Value. A subdomain like app.yourcompany.com gets a CNAME record. A main domain like yourcompany.com gets an A record. You may also see a TXT record named _vercel that proves the address is yours. Each address gets its own TXT record with a different value, so if you connect app.yourcompany.com and help.yourcompany.com, you add two. Keep the TXT records already there: removing one can disconnect that address.
Open the DNS page at GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare or wherever you bought your domain. Add each line exactly as shown. Click Copy value to copy a value without typos.
Click: Copy value
Step 4: Check the connection
Back in Alori, under Check the connection, click Check connection. It usually works within a few minutes. Some providers take up to 48 hours. When it works, you see "Connected. It opens at" your domain.
Click: Check connection
Good to know
Custom domains come with Business. If your account leaves Business, its domains are removed and each project goes back to its Alori address.
A project's domain becomes the address shown above its preview.
Right after it connects, give it a few minutes: Alori updates your app so the domain shows its project.
To use another domain, click Remove, then connect the new one.
If it doesn't work
"Custom domains come with Business. Upgrade on the Billing page, then connect your domain." Move to Business on the Billing page first.
"Enter a domain like help.yourcompany.com." Type only the address, without spaces.
"This domain is already used by another project or site. Remove it there first, then try again." Each domain goes on one project. Remove it from the other project first.
"Not connected yet. Check the records above, then try again in a few minutes." See My domain isn't connecting: what do I do?
