How do I import my Intercom help center?
In Import data, click Import on Intercom, paste your access token, click Connect Intercom, then Import. Your articles go to your Help center.
Open Import data, click Import on Intercom, paste your Intercom access token and click Connect Intercom. Pick your help centers, then click Import. Your articles are recreated in your Help center, and Alori learns from each one so it can answer customers.
Also called: Intercom articles, knowledge base, FAQ, help docs, support articles, importer Intercom, centre d'aide, base de connaissances, undo import, import progress
Step 1: Get your Intercom access token
You need one key from Intercom: the access token of an app you make in your own Intercom workspace. It takes about two minutes (see How to find your Intercom access token).
Click: Intercom Settings › Integrations › Developer Hub
Step 2: Paste it and connect
In Alori, open Import data and click Import on Intercom. The page says Import from Intercom. Paste the token in Intercom access token, then click Connect Intercom. Alori reads your help center by itself: "Reading your Intercom help center…"
Click: Import data › Import › Connect Intercom
Step 3: Pick your help centers and import
Each help center shows with its number of articles, all checked. Uncheck any you don't want, then click Import. With two or more, each one becomes its own section in your Help center.
Click: Import
Step 4: See what came over
Alori copies the pictures, adds the articles to your Help center, then learns from them. A bar shows how far along it is, like "Copying the pictures (126 of 3217)…". A big one can take a while: you can close the page, the import keeps going and emails you when it's done. Then you see how many articles are on your Help center and how many things Alori learned. Click See what Alori learned to check and fix them in Company memory.
Click: See what Alori learned
Undo an import
Under the done message, click Undo import, then Take them out. The articles and sections from Intercom leave your Help center, with their translations and what Alori learned from them. Articles you wrote yourself always stay, and so does any imported article or translation you changed, published or renamed since. A section that still holds one of your articles stays too. Then click Import again to bring your help center back over.
Click: Undo import › Take them out
Good to know
Only published articles come over. Nothing changes in Intercom.
To bring changes over later, click Import again. Articles already imported are updated, and nothing is removed.
To start clean, check First take out what an earlier import brought, and what Alori learned from it before you click Import. This box shows after a first import. Articles you wrote or changed stay.
To take Alori's access away, delete the app in Intercom's Developer Hub.
If it doesn't work
"Intercom didn't accept this token. Copy it again from Authentication." Copy the whole token again. It's one long line.
"Intercom refused the token. Paste a new one." Paste a new token from your Intercom app.
"Your Intercom help center has no published article yet." Publish your articles in Intercom first.
"Your app needs an update before it can hold articles. Publish it once, then import again." Publish your app, then click Import again.
"Your app isn't online yet. Publish it once, then import again." Publish your app first.
"Alori can't save the pictures of your articles yet, so nothing was imported. Try again later." Nothing changed. Click Import again later.
"The import stopped. Try again." Click Import again.
