Why do texts need my business details?
US phone carriers check every business once before its texts go out, so they aren't blocked as spam. Canadian numbers don't need this.
In the United States, phone carriers check every business once before its texts can go out, so your texts aren't blocked as spam. You fill in your business details one time, then carriers approve them, usually in 1 to 2 weeks. Canadian numbers skip this: texts work as soon as you have the number.
Also called: carrier registration, A2P, 10DLC, SMS registration, brand registration, EIN, texts blocked, enregistrement des textos, inscription opérateur, numéro EIN
Step 1: Open your details
In Phone system, the card Your business number shows Texts need your details. Click Add the details. It opens the Texting tab, with Your business details.
Click: Phone system › Add the details
Step 2: Fill in your business
Use the exact legal details registered with your tax authority:
EIN (like 12-3456789), Legal business name, Legal business type, Business industry and Company ownership.
Your address: Street, City, State and ZIP.
The person carriers can reach: first and last name, email, phone, position and title.
You don't give a website, a privacy policy, SMS terms or how customers agree to texts: Alori sends carriers your Alori website, which already has them (on your own domain once it's connected).
Step 3: Send it
Click Save and continue. The badge turns to Calls work: calls already work, and texts turn on once carriers approve your business, usually in 1 to 2 weeks. Then it shows Calls and texts work, and Alori emails you. If carriers ask for a correction, Alori emails you the reason too.
Click: Save and continue
Good to know
US registration is a one-time fee of 63.34 credits, charged when your details are sent. Carriers charge again if a corrected form has to be sent again.
You can also do it by chat. In Chat, ask something like "What's missing to text in the US?" or paste your details. Alori asks only for what's missing, then shows a Do it button: nothing is sent to carriers before you click it. Claude can do the same once you connect it to Alori.
Until texts work, calls work normally.
Your website has a Text messaging terms and privacy page (your address followed by
/en/sms, or/fr/sms), linked at the bottom of every page. It shows your phone so customers can reach you; without one, your Alori email address, or else a link to your Contact page. The request form on your Contact and Get a quote pages has a box customers can tick to agree to your texts. It starts unticked, and they can send the form without it. On the customer's record, their phone shows Agreed to texts once they tick it.In the same Texting tab, under How your texts look, you can turn on Sign my texts, Reply when I'm closed and Add an unsubscribe line. With a US number, Add an unsubscribe line starts on: carriers expect a customer's first text to say how to stop them. You can turn it off.
If it doesn't work
Texts need a fix. Carriers asked for a correction. Click Fix it, read the reason in red, correct your details and click Save and continue.
