How do I win, lose or move a deal?

Drag the deal's card to another column, or open the deal and pick its stage. Won lets you plan the job; Lost asks why.

Updated October 24, 2026

On the Deals board, drag the deal's card to its new column. Or open the deal and pick a new stage in the stage menu next to its name. When you pick Won, you can plan the job right away. When you pick Lost, Alori asks why.

Also called: close a deal, mark as won, mark as lost, change stage, move to next stage, deal signed, conclure une affaire, gagnée, perdue, changer d'étape

Step 1: Move the deal

On the board, drag the card to the column you want. Or open the deal and pick a stage in the menu next to its name. You see … moved to …, with Undo.

Click: the deal › the stage menu › a stage

Step 2: Mark it won

Move it to a won stage, like Won. If your app has jobs, a window opens to plan the job for this customer, with the deal's price. Fill it in and save, or click Won without a job. You see Deal won with …. Moving a deal from one won stage to another, like Won to Won – paid, just moves it.

Click: Won › Won without a job, or plan the job

Step 3: Or mark it lost

Move it to a lost stage, like Lost. Under Why was it lost?, pick Price too high, Took too long, A competitor, No more answer or Other. Add a Note (optional), then click Mark as lost. You see Deal lost: ….

Click: Lost › a reason › Mark as lost

Moving a lead

A lead has buttons next to its stage on its page. Click Move to … for the next lead stage, or Make it a deal: … once it's a real sale. Click Not a fit to drop it: it goes to a lost stage among your lead stages (like Disqualified) if you have one, or else to Lost, and asks why.

Click: Move to …, Make it a deal: … or Not a fit

Good to know

  • Changed your mind? Click Undo in the message, or move the deal back.

  • A lost deal can be reopened: drag it out of its lost column on the board.

  • Your pipeline can have more than one won or lost stage. See How do I set up pipelines and stages?

  • Won and Lost columns show the last 30 days. Use List › All to see older ones.

  • Ask Alori can move one deal or many at once: "Move the Gagnon and Roy deals to Won".

  • Ask Alori to plan the job for a deal ("Plan the Gagnon install for Tuesday at 9"), and it marks that deal won too. You see Deal won with its own Undo, which puts the deal back where it was.

If it doesn't work

  • "This stage was removed. Reload and try again." Someone changed the pipeline. Reload the page.

  • "This deal was deleted." Someone else deleted it.

  • "You don't have access to this." Your role can view deals but not change them.

  • No job window when you win. Your app has no jobs, or your role can't plan jobs or change customers. The deal is still won.
