How do I send an invoice or mark it paid?
Open the invoice and click Email, then Send the invoice. Your customer can pay by card from the link. Paid another way? Click Mark paid.
Open the invoice and click the envelope (Email), then Send the invoice. The email has a link where your customer can pay by card, and the invoice turns Paid by itself when they do. If they paid by cheque, cash or transfer, click Mark paid.
Also called: send a bill, get paid, record a payment, collect payment, envoyer la facture, marquer payée, encaisser, paiement reçu, facture payée
Step 1: Open the invoice
Open Invoices and click the invoice. Its page shows what it bills on the left and, on the right, the Total with its taxes, when it is due ("Due" and the date), the customer and, when it bills one, the Job. The tag next to its number says where it stands: Sent, Overdue or Paid. On a phone, the total and Mark paid stay in a bar at the bottom.
Click: Invoices › the invoice
Step 2: Email it
Click the envelope next to the invoice's number. Preview before sending shows who it goes to, the subject and the message. The customer's own link is added when it is sent. Click Send the invoice. You see Invoice sent.
Click: the envelope › Send the invoice
Step 3: Your customer pays by card
In the email, your customer clicks "Pay online by card". The page shows the Amount due and a Pay by card button, with "Secure payment by Stripe." Once they pay, the invoice turns Paid and its page says "Paid by card" and when, for example "Paid by card 2 hours ago". Hover over the time to see the full date.
Step 4: Or mark it paid yourself
Paid another way? Click Mark paid, the blue button on the invoice page (at the bottom on a phone), or on its row in Invoices on a computer. You see "Invoice #… paid", with Undo if you clicked by mistake. The invoice then says "Paid" and when, for example "Paid 5 minutes ago".
Click: Mark paid
Good to know
On a computer, Mark paid is also on each unpaid invoice's row in the Invoices page.
Once an invoice is Paid, the envelope and Mark paid go away.
The top of the Invoices page shows what's Overdue, what's Waiting, and what was Paid in this month, with how many days your customers take to pay on average.
An unpaid invoice past its due date turns Overdue on its own, and the list says for how many days, counted from that due date.
To delete an invoice, click ⋯ next to its number, then Delete, and confirm. Its pay link stops working.
You can ask Ask Alori: "Mark invoice 2004 paid" or "Email invoice 2004."
